Breakthrough
Painted at Zion Christian Fellowship 2/21/21
The darkness cannot overcome the light.
This horse of the light breaks into the darkness. You are the horse of light, wisdom, goodness, and love... needed in every dark situation. You are the one that breaks through and advances God's Kingdom. So let your light shine that others may see your good works and they will give glory to God. John 1:5, Matt 5:16

Three Dog Night
Getting to know God more, I discovered He's much more about joy than solemnity. Here's how the Holy Spirit inspired a painting and a pun.
Lying in bed ill, the Holy Spirit questioned where my joy had gone. Despite feeling unwell, I sought out joy and soon found myself laughing uncontrollably. Miraculously, the laughter healed my sickness.
The following day, I felt compelled to paint something joyful to commemorate my experience. Previously, I'd painted a laughing chicken, but this time, a joyful dog was my muse. The Holy Spirit suggested a trio of dogs would be even better, and I agreed. He envisioned a night scene with a deep wine-colored sky and joy bubbles floating around. As creativity surged, the design quickly took shape. Only after completing the design did I realize I'd created a 'Three Dog Night' themed piece about joy. The pun hit me when I recalled Three Dog Night's 1971 hit 'Joy to the World.' Embracing the humor, I included a bullfrog, tipping my hat to the lyric "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog." Initially apprehensive about presenting a Holy Spirit-inspired rock band joy painting to a church crowd, my husband's revelation that 'Joy to the World' was originally a gospel song with "Jeremiah was a prophet" as lyrics, reassured me. It seems the Holy Spirit is indeed more playful than religious.

Aslan
This painting was inspired by the Creation of Narnia:
“The Lion opened his mouth, but no sound came from it; he was breathing out, a long, warm breath; it seemed to sway all the beasts as the wind sways a line of trees… Then there came a swift flash like fire (but it burnt nobody) either from the sky or from the Lion itself, and every drop of blood tingled in the children's bodies, and the deepest, wildest voice they had ever heard was saying: "Narnia, Narnia, Narnia, awake. Love. Think. Speak. Be walking trees. Be talking beasts. Be divine waters."
